Remember if you make changes to your delivery it may take 10,000 times to cement it into your brain.
The grip. I like the thumb on the grip at the top of the bowl and the other fingers softly placed on the running surface and not strangling the bowl. You should be able to turn your hand upside down holding the bowl softly. It is essential that the bowl is let go on its running surface and not on a lean.
Its not a pendulum delivery. Take note of the transfer of weight and forward momentum in the following videos. HOWEVER see comments below
However, playing on a variety of green speeds, head winds etc does require some adjustment to the no pendulum swing. Women have less muscular strength and generally shorter height. In particular the shorter women and those using lighter bowls need to pay attention to backswing. For that reason the Barry Lester videos are worth watching especially Episode 8 "the Natural bowling swing with the slight turn on the backwards swing.
There are 11 videos on the below link. They are all very short.
A version of the slight turn can be watched from our blackjack Katelyn Inch in one of her televised matches on this video.
Katelyn can generate a very fast accurate drive with her delivery.

I bought my copy on line through Mighty Ape for $35 (June 2021) which includes delivery in NZ.. I recommend it- Barbara W
Publishers Description
Yes, there really is such a thing as the perfect bowl. And yes, everyone has the potential to bowl it. The perfect bowl is the one that defines and expresses the essence of Belliss' approach to the game - which is that what the mind truly believes, the body inevitably delivers. Perfect Bowls are the kind that Kiwi great Peter Belliss delivered so consistently they won him three world championship titles. And in Perfect Bowls Peter Belliss not only reveals the simple daily mind-training exercises that create unbeatable self-belief, but also brilliantly analyses the modern techniques and tactics that turn that self-belief into inevitable victory. Peter Belliss breaks the game of lawn bowls down into its bare mental and physical components - and then shows you how to put them all together to deliver your own Perfect Bowls.

Bowls by Ian Schuback
I bought my copy on line through Fishpond for $37.55 (June 2021 including delivery) after it was recommended to me by another Wanaka club member. It has some useful information although not quite as easy to read as the Peter Bellis book. But thanks for the recommendation it ia well worth the time to read - Barbara W
