A Note For New Bowlers

When you start playing bowls and join a club you are classed as a 'Junior' bowler. It doesn't matter how old you are - it is all about your time playing bowls and for your first five years you will be a 'Junior'. As a 'Junior' you will be able to play in all bowls offered by the club as well as Junior events at the club and also Central Otago Bowls Junior Championships.

You may decide that you do not want to be a competitive bowler at all and may decide to play only social bowls and enjoy Friday Progressive Bowls and Men's and Women's Club Days.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to decide how competitive you want to be. Just get involved and give things a good go in your first year and see how you go!

The main thing is to enjoy your bowls!
