July 2022 Newsletter
From the President
For the benefit of those who could not attend the AGM on 25th June, it gives me great pleasure to represent the W.B.C as president for the forthcoming term in the knowledge that I am well supported by a more than capable board and some wonderful volunteers that carry out various duties of club life. Thank you all for your ongoing commitment.

Thanks also to Gaye for her role as president over the last couple of years which has proven to be a difficult period. Let’s hope the days ahead are smoother sailing.

I would also like to welcome Mark Daniels, Murray Finn, & Fin McRae as new members to the board, I’m sure they will have much to offer.

Also thank you to Marg Young who is stepping down from her position on the board after many years of valued service but continues to help out in other areas. Thanks again Marg.

Stadium bowls continue to tick along and although numbers have been down in some events they seem to be picking up now, and of course the Studholme trophy is as popular as ever drawing good numbers of spectators.

Members will have noticed the new covered porch over the entrance door to the stadium which I am sure will be well appreciated by patrons and goods supplier’s alike during inclement weather. Special thanks to Phil Davidson and Mel Campbell for their expertise in this area.

Finally best wishes to Richie Muir who travels north to Hastings this weekend to represent our club and Central Otago in the N.Z champion of champion singles event. I understand some of the games will be live streamed by Bowls NZ, so let’s hope we can watch Richie's progress. Go Richie!! The club is behind you.
Well that’s all for now folks,
Stay warm, stay safe
Tom
